Thanks, Mark. I was hanging on with every shot. The two best playoff series so far involved the Mavs. Would we be saying this a few years ago? No. One day you are going to get that Championship. Sounds like you already have your Champions.

I know losing sucks, but there are many teams who would have loved to be where you guys were in the post season (or even make the post season).Keep the head up and moving forward. Things will come into place when the time is right.

I'm not a fan of the NBA. I never watch a game, unless the Mavericks are playing. They are a different breed of players; proactive, aggressive, and deadly accurate. The momentum that builds during the Mavs offensive domination is truly amazing to witness. Over the years you've developed the team in a very solid, disciplined manner. Next year I'm confident you'll reach the Finals and if everyone works together, I'm certain you'll win the Finals.(Steve's a good player, wish he was still on the team, but I am happy for him because he truly is an excellent player, but so is Dirk and all of the Mavs.)There's nothing anyone can say to make up for the devasting feeling of great loss, especially with it being so close. I suppose you have to realize that 2005 simply wasn't the year for the Mavericks (for whatever synchronistic reasons), but the good news is you're one day closer to the year (hopefully 2006!) that will be the Mavericks', when they win the Finals and start their inevitable dynasty of championships. I'm looking forward to finally seeing a game in person next season. Good luck!

Mark, thank you for your comments. You share more with the Mavs fans than any owner in pro sports, and I see the admiration for this in the online communities around the country. You are changing what fans come to expect from owners. Unlike one owner who has a spin conference before flying off to his Italian villa for the summer, you don't run away and hide. I know you are already working (maybe unconsciously) about how to make next year better.I accused you last year of seeming to not care about the Mavs prior to the Dampier deal (knowing you were thinking of sticking the $$$ in your pocket), and my instincts were wrong. Maybe you should have, but you took the risk - the payback just seems a little delayed. You took that risk because you cared. Sure you want to win, moreso maybe than all us Mavs fans combined, but you do this in a way that we all share. Not to accuse you of reading too much Rosseau, and engaging in a(n) (emotional) social contract, but yes. Maybe. You have bigger fish to fry at the moment in the CBA process, to keep your investment in the Mavs moving in the right direction - and to not let idiotic (flawed) logic turn the Golden Goose anorexic... especially since everyone is making money. Finally, stop agonizing (even if it's just venting) over SNash and HIS (agent's?) decision. He chose to become something in Phoenix that he never was (nor would be) in Dallas. Here, SNash would have never been anything other than a 450lb Shaq - great, but tragically, "IF ONLY..." flawed.
