Which side was that? I would agree that technological advances, high budgets and creative writers/directors currently resulting in some of the best movies of all time being produced in this era. However, maybe the reason it seems like movies as a whole have gone downhill is the fact that technology has also made it very easy for ANYONE to make a movie, and thus the amount of crap that's being churned out has increased exponentially.
