Like you said, "Somebody thinking the hurricane is going to hit certain parts of America, people bought stock at a higher price, and then caused a trickle effect on us." How do oil companies get to increase the amount of gas because the stock price increases? I work for Software Company and when the stocks go up we don't increase the price on the software. The department I work for looks for ways to decrease the cost. Do they oil companies make contracts with the people over in other countries on how much they pay a certain amount per barrel? Let me know, just making sure my thoughts are right. So that being said, what needs to happen is this. \'We the People\' need to petition Congress to \'repeal\' the law that allows monopolies. There by, OPEC would have to disband allowing true \'competition\' instead of \'cooperation\' among the oil companies. <br><br>Also, \'We the People\' need to start a \"Class Action Suit against all oil companies, because; \'We the People\' contest that all oil companies are \'Price Gouging\'. How else can they explain their admitted Exorbitant profits? (i.e.: Posted IRS Tax Returns of $65 Billion in Profit for the first quarter, thats just Exxon/Mobil)<br>\'We the People\' also contest that the U.S. government has allowed this blatant abuse of their people, by the oil companies, by not controlling the price of the gas, especially after the natural disasters that we have experienced, and this never ending war on terrorism.
