I would ask what demographic are you going for? The hip-hop crowd would love something from Dre or other artists from their scene. The rockers would get off on We Will Rock You or other classics and so on. Can't please everyone, but maybe you can try with something in the middle from the pop scene like Outkast's 'Hey Ya'?

I think you're looking for something known and somewhat classic, without being overplayed or still running the rounds of the Top 40 stations.I think, as many have mentioned, BLUR - SONG 2 is great, It's known and people love to sing along to it; also it's only 2 minutes long and rocks the whole time.

Hey Mark. I don't think it is quite what you are looking for because it has words and is a newer song, but I think you definitely need to add "Come On, Come On" by the Von Bondies to the playlist. It is short (2:13) and has a lot of energy. (You might recognize it if you hear it; they use it as the opening song for "Rescue Me", if you've ever seen it.) Anyway, it may not be the answer to your inquiry, but it is definetly worth adding to the mix. Thanks for reading my $0.02.

...Or what about a less obvious option...like something from Neil Diamond or Billy Joel. Maybe some "Brother Love's Travelin' Salvation Show" or "Big Shot?"j/k

I'm in a band from San Francisco, we're a bunch of affable 20 somethings. We specialize in anthemic party music. We're working on our full LP right now, our single "American Party" is gathering a large amount of play time on local underground stations in the Bay Area. We are redoing it to be more polished...it might be the sort of thing you are looking for. check the link for the song.http://www.myspace.com/tokyogold
