Religious reader of your blog. Congrats on the huge win last night, Mark. Nothing like watching your bounce around on the sideline in ecstasy. I am not a huge fan of the NBA, but I am slowly coming back around after the strike. I work in PR, and think you do a great job innovating your fan experience. Something the Sonics just don’t get here in Seattle. Great to see Dirk and DC rise to the occasion! Again congrats. Hope you have well over 82 more nights like yesterday! The passion you bring to the game only helps to win back jaded fans like myself. I respect you for that, and wanted to say thanks! Looks like I have been missing out on some damn good basketball!

I think it’s great, (via the power of the internet) that you can share your thoughts with us at 4am after your first game of the season. Also, I would like to compliment you for being the only owner that I know of, that shares your thoughts in a public forum.

Don’t worry; no one takes the TNT guys seriously. The only reason I watch it so that I can laugh at Charles. Let’s face it; those guys are there more for their entertainment value not their journalism skills.

Good to see you talking about basketball again. I agree 100% with Mark’s assessment of the TNT’s “analysis.” I usually tune into game about 10 minutes after the television start time because I can’t stand the pregame commentary. It has become all style & no substance. They don’t really add anything worthwhile to listen to. You could almost program a dummy to say it.

“The (insert losing team here) really didn’t come out to play today. In the second half they’re going to have to match (insert the winning team here)’s intesity. (Best player on the losing team) really needs to get his team going in the locker room if he wants to be a leader in this league.”

They’ve really dumbed it down to the lowest common denominator.

What’s even better about Reggie; in 20 years, kids my age(20-ish) won’t know who Reggie Miller is/was/whatever. And for my generation, he’ll just be some guy who hit a couple shots, but did nothing that ever really mattered in the long run.

Congrats on the win. I couldn’t agree more that Barkley is an idiot, but he doesn’t seem to care and he is occassionly funny. BTW, they were totally dissing Fin in the first half of the SA game, but he made them eat crow with his clutch 2nd half shots. It was weird last night seeing Fin, Nash, Bell, Najera and Van Exel playing elsewhere. Seems like the WCF were just yesterday and they were Mavs.

Your passion for the team never ceases to amaze Mark. The bright blue jacket’s gotta go, however. I think the Mavs have some nice young talent in Howard, Harris, and Daniels, so giving them as much time as possible is the #1 priority. The old guys (Dampier, Christie, etc.) are garbage… wasted money. I still think the Mavs aren’t going anywhare in the playoffs. It’s painfully obvious. They’ll have a decent regular season and get ousted in the first round. You love to discredit the TNT guys, but have they ever been wrong? Year after year they predict a good regular season and a quick playoff oust, and year after year they’re right. Facts are facts. Package some of your scrubs and a young stud and get an Igoudala type player in return to complement Dirk.

Bensley (post #4), you don’t know what you’re talking about. Reggie Miller was one of the greatest clutch players in the history of the NBA. Do you remember the finals against the Bulls, how good Miller was? Reggie Miller has over 25,000 career points.
