I dont know if i will update this regularly. I dont know if this will be the last post till ??
I have a pregame ritual which includes working at my PC in my arena office. All the usual.
Right now. Im dying. It feels like a vitamin rush. You know. The too many redbulls. Too many “lose weight now” and other assorted energy vitamins feel. The feeling of “im going to burst if we dont get going soon “.
The good news is I have a smile on my face that no one will be able to wipe off for at least another 3 hours and 20 minutes.
I plan on writing this. Checking somethings and getting on the court to shoot a couple baskets. I have to shoot some baskets on the NBA Finals floor. Period end of story. I wouldnt forgive myself if i didnt.
Yeah, people will be around watching, which doesnt happen during the regular season, but so what. Yeah someone will accuse me of something . So what.
I get to walk on the floor of the NBA finals and just throw some up.
I dont care who you are. Thats pretty damn cool

I’m not a basketball fan, but will be rooting the Mavs on. Why? Because it is about time a real fan had a crack at a professional sports championship. Mark, your team has the hopes of all Mavs fans on their shoulders, but you as the owner/fan have the hopes of all of us fans that look at you and say — “that is how I would be if I owned a team”.

It was 7 hours and 45 minutes to game time at that point. I stood there and watched the highlights for the West until I got ran out of the store by the supervisor.

I’m sure it is different, the closer i get to the arena, but here in north texas, above I-635, you would be hard-pressed to know that the city’s pro basketball team even existed!

War has just started but the first battle has been won by the MAVS! Miami will not go down easy, so it will be a tough road ahead. The MAVS need to win the first game in Miami to get in the drivers seat. Wish you all the luck and a lot of us here in Bloomington Indiana are behind you.

I know the feeling, Mark. I’ve been walking around all day at work, dying with anticipation. I’ve been popping my Mav colors ponytail holders (remember? I mentioned those before) I had on when Dirk got 50 points and the Mavs beat Phoenix. These babies aren’t leaving my wrist until the last basket is shot.
I even snuck over to the sports store and watched ESPN with their game countdown timer. It was 7 hours and 45 minutes to game time at that point. I stood there and watched the highlights for the West until I got ran out of the store by the supervisor.
And, although I worked all day, I didn’t manage to walk off the feeling. I’m still flying and counting down the minutes.
You have fun shooting those baskets. And let whoever sees you see you. Your team made it and you have every right in the world to do it.

Damn cool, indeed. You know how the networks speculate who the “next Jordan” is, as far as bringing enough excitement to the game to get the casual fan engaged? Well, Mark, methinks you look at him in the mirror every morning. I’m certainly no casual fan, but I hear almost everyone I come in contact with talking about the Mavs. What a marvelous job you’ve done to make the Mavs the single best entertainment value in pro sports today….
