Mark,

Big fan. Made it to about 5 games last year. Going to my 3rd this fall, tomorrow.

I was in class tonight, and the topic of bioengineering came up. This thought struck me, and I instantly thought of you.

According to my Computer Science professor, the cures to cancer, diabetes, and most other genetic mutations are not more than a decade or so from being discovered. It's primarily a matter of a scientists collecting data (the process has begun) and a strong team of computer scientists and biogenetic engineers building software capable of analyzing the data and identifying the patterns that ultimately point to the cure.

It's still a very new field and bound to be a multi-billion (multi-trillian?) dollar industry -- think about it, to have the cures to cancer and other genetic diseases?

It just struck me that you could hire 250 of the BEST computer science and biogenetic researchers for what... $200k apiece? For a grand total of $50 mil / year. The cure's just a matter of time. You get the best of them working for you, and that $50 mil / yr, even if it takes 10 years, is going to pale in comparison with the hundreds or thousands of BILLIONS of dollars the answers are worth to the healthcare industry.

See, it's not just the cure for cancer that's going to be discovered. The system that can successfully analyze the data and discover the common patterns could be applied to ANY genetic mutation. Think about military (or even civilian) performance enhancers, healthcare products, designer babies, etc. What Hollywood portrays as science fiction is just a decade or so away from a realistic pharmaceutical mishap.

I just thought, of all people to pave the way and reap the rewards, who better than you--who've already done it, on what will be a very small scale, looking back.

And hey, if all fails... you're out a whopping $0.5 billion after 10 years. I get the impression $0.5 billion isn't going to drastically affect your quality of life. But to potentially be the mogul of the biggest industry we may see in our lifetimes....

As for me, I'm just a web developer, but give me a shout-out if you like the idea.

Go Mavs!

Hi Mark,

I realize this is not the best place for my topic but I couldn't locate a direct email address for you.

I am a software executive that has run into a problem with the SEC. Unfortunately, like you, I find myself being unfairly prosecuted by the SEC. I am fighting hard but ultimately I am finding it difficult to fight a powerful non-principal based and unjust regulatory body.

It would be great if I could communicate with you directly (via email or phone) as I would like to run an idea by you that you might find intriguing and could potentially help me.

Sincerely,
rpsca

Isn't the Cowboys' video board bigger? Hype is alright, but it's even better when it's true.

New Additions Shawn Marion and lets not forget Drew Gooden will really help this team go from what appeared to be a lackluster upcoming season to an anything is possible season. If injuries do not slowly beset this team these new players will help Dirk and the crew surpass 50wins again!
It was also good to see conscious of the Hard Cap and not a making himself a target during the recession.

So I'm a Bobcats fan (lived in NC my whole life, got burned by the Hornets). Question: Does anyone think Bob Johnson is even 10% as excited for the NBA season? Do you think he knows it begins tonight? Also, I hope Michael Jordan finishes up his golf round this weekend in time to care about the team.

Hell yeah!!

So pumped for 8:30 tonight!!

Ive never been to a basketball game, but I plan on going when we play NJ or philly, maybe Ill catch you at the game, we can have some brewskies and talk smack to their players, then we can get our asses kicked by all the fans in the stadium. :)
TELL ALL THE GUYS SOME 22 YEAR OLD WHITE MAN FROM NJ SAID GOOD LUCK!!

as for the HP partnership, that would be great although there are probably better candidates for it, but I do love the mavs and would be ecstatic to do that, just might not be the best.

Oh yeah, stress to the guys that they need to play as hard these first couple weeks as they will the last couple weeks because of josh's injury, theyll want to get off to a fast start so they arent in a slump and have to rush josh back which wont help since I just read a report today that said josh has had a problem wit this ankle since college. So if thats the case, you should rest him as much as possible, and potentially you could be getting a brand new player back(hopefully improved) with proven skills just fresher and healtier than ever.

Okay Im blabbing on and on, but damn it Ive waited long enough!

Dear Mr. Cuban

Hello, my name is Brett Pollak. I am a business graduate school student at Indiana University's Kelley School of Business. I am currently starting my own web site that will VASTLY improve the quality of life for all college students. I know you shot to the top and I respect that and want to emulate what you did. You are a serial entrepreneur and have had success in multiple industries. I think this is a project you will find very interesting and extremely profitable. The website is almost done and will be live in about two weeks. The start-up costs are next to nothing and the web site is guaranteed to break even in a matter of months and will make a huge profit not too long afterwards. I would love to share the idea with you and would love for you to be involved. Feel free to call me at 407-461-6103 or email me at Bdpollak@indiana.edu if you are interested.

Warm Regards,

Brett
