How are we ahead ? We have not played well at all.

we took advantage of some mistakes, they made, but we need to push the ball more and take it stronger to the hoop. Which is what I know Avery is telling the guys right now.

Lets hope we can play better in the 2nd half.

  3. Jason Terry was huge and recovered well after the missed dunk. It was a temporary momentum shift, but they get stingy with the ball at the end, when they had to.

    The win was good, but I’m sure we all know they can play better than this … and they will.

    Stackhouse & Terry = YES!

    Sign seen, “We don’t need a Shaq when we have a Stackhouse.”.

    Mavs – Play better with a FASTER game.

    Uniforms = Skirts and some players with tights. All that fabric. They need decent form fitting uniforms like in the 1980’s!

    Thank God that prev Marv Albert wasn’t to be seen. How can he hold his head up? Yes, folks have a right to work, but those guys will fogive each other anything, it seems.

    I can tell when Dirk’s gonna make a basket from the free throw line by watching his wrist.

    Too bad it wasn’t a team from the north that’s not used to these temps. It could really throw them off.

    Mark looked INTENSE.

  19. Hi, I was reading somewhere, that if a team wins games 1, 2, and 3 of the finals and they win by more then 18 points each game that they will win the Finals by default. Is this true??? It’s great watching the Mavs play in the Finals!!! GO MAVS!!!

Mark..you guys will be fine as long as Riley doesn’t get you sucked into the half court game.He’s the king of the half court, and I’ve seen it happen before.But than, I’m sure Avery is more than aware of that.   32. C’mon, Cube, Dallas can’t make shots if they can’t see, and they can’t see if Shaq keeps elbowing our guys in the face. Between Dirk’s jaw and Stacks nose, I would say the refs need to open THEIR eyes…..

    Hopefully the Heat will find their shots like they did in the 1st Quarter.

  59. One thing I am enjoying though…the refs are letting them play. For the first time this postseason, I’m really happy that the refs are letting the game flow and not calling all of the ticky-tack fouls that they have through most of the earlier rounds.

  62. I was watching ESPN today and listened to the analylists about the officiating. I agree, if the mavericks come out and dominate from the start, we will not have to worry what the refs are calling. Some calls are always going to be questionable, that is the nature of human error, good or bad. I always feel the home court gets the benefit of the calls anyway, in all sports. Time to come out and play ball and kick some heat butt!

  63. How come the Mavs didn’t call another timeout after Wade’s 2nd free throw? Sure, Miami would have gotten another free throw, but at least Dallas could have advanced the ball to midcourt and had a plausible opportunity to tie or win the game (a la Game 5 of the 1976 Finals).

The game was amazing…question though…why was Darrell Armstrong fined for cheering for the Redskins after defeating the Cowboys in December (I was at that game! go Skins!!!!) and yet the newest bad boy to the Cowboys can sport a Heat jersey to the playoffs and everyone thinks it is funny? I think he should be fined or sent back to Philli…oh wait, they don’t want him either!

  77. I just started reading your blog and i remember a post or two about how commentators said the same cliches over and over. To the ABC commentators credit, they did throw out some statistics of what inbounds play each team likes to run, the implications of the different defences that each team used, and a lot of praise for the home team.   89. When Dirk is cold like he is tonight, he needs to suck it up like he has been, take it to the rim and get to the foul line. I’m sure he will in the second half. Terry’s been carrying the guys so far. The defense in the first quarter was almost non-existent. One thing I am enjoying though…the refs are letting them play.
