I\’m glad you posted this. Sorry I didn\’t see it sooner. Trump has a great opportunity to make his unique, asynchronous, online University legit & profitable at the same time. He talks a lot about \”smart\” people and that he and all his family have gone to The University of Pennsylvania\’s Wharton School of Business. But he\’s going about his University in such a way that it\’s currently a laughing stock. Too bad. This is a good idea and could be accredited, even, through SUNY, The State University of NY since he lives there. I\’ve done this before in NY, could do it for him and make it work. It would be prestigious. I know how. But I don\’t think so. I live in Dallas.
So if anyone wants to start up a prestigious, accredited online university, give me a shout.

Very interesting read Mark, I appreciate the insight. E-Mail marketing these days, can sometimes be a big pain. I made a few mistakes in the past, signing up for those “Get Rich” programs and whatnot. The Email Newsletter is free, but the consequenses are harsh. A swarm of spam emails have been sent to my inbox, and now I can’t delete them. One day my space will run out. That is no problem for me, since I have multiple e-mail accounts. This spam email is very funny, even more entertaining when it leads to a poorly designed page that has NOTHING to do with Donald Trump or his business teachings. Touche, email marketing has gone down the drain. And great advertisers who can use it correctly will still suffer lower conversion rates.

I went to his “wealth seminar” earlier this year. I got a two for one special for $80 so I figured I’d check it out. That thing was the biggest convention of hucksters and snake oil salesmen I have ever seen in my life. What was even more shocking is the amount of people that were buying into it! Basically, I paid $80 bucks to have a line of hucksters peddle me their $800 packages that would make me “rich tomorrow”! They literally said this! I was actually kind of surprised that Donald Trump would put his name behind an event like this.
Meanwhile, the year before I paid $20 to hear Mark Cuban speak and I consider it the best $20 I’ve ever spent in my life. I actually learned something from his lecture!

You may not want to hear this, but you and Trump have similar advertising… not to mention some of the most recognized REAL last names in Pop/Culture. You talk about your NBA fines being the best form of advertising. Although your tactics (in my view) are much more acceptable, Trump does whatever he needs to create a buzz… which in turn makes his name more and more recognizable. In the same breath, I would venture to say that 99.99% of NBA fans know Cuban and MAYBE their own teams owner, but couldn’t name any other name (MAYBE West). I would even bet the ones who know the Maloof name, only know of the Palm, not the Kings 🙂

So everyone does understand that this is in NO way associated with Donald Trump or his organization. It is a spam technique by an affilate marketing company. When you click the link, it chooses one of the affiliates in the program and sends you to their sites. Every few clicks will take you to a different website that is promoting a “get rich quick” product.
The sad part is that many people are fooled by these things and waste a lot of money on these bad products so the spammers will only continue to send these.

Well I think it’s a little bit crazy that Donald Trump is reaching out to the public to pick up 75$ at a time, I mean I thought he was some kind of business genius. It almost seems wrong to grab money from people who don’t have a lot to begin with to increase ones own wealth. I mean once we buy those videos, what else is there to do to help us? Trump will take proceeds from that and merely reinvest it in what he thinks is the next big thing. I don’t think that he is such a great person in the end. He has made billions, but has also lost billions. Now what about a guy such as Warren Buffett. I think that’s a very successful guy.
About the Trump brand, I was shopping at TJ Maxx to find some sweet deals on clothes and I saw that the associates were loading up the Trump ties onto racks because they did not sell full or even half price at regular department stores. I mean wow Trump, that must have been your goal from the start, to sell ties at 70% off retail…
No one can teach you hard work from watching a simple video. This stuff has to come within the self. Great corner backs don’t just become awesome. They started going to summer weight lifting program at the nearest high school when they were in 7th grade to become the biggest the fastest and the strongest. People in Indonesia who can’t make a regular living, they sell pirated videos on street corners to feed their whole family. Now that’s motivation and dedication. And people at my school boast their 17,000 song library on iTunes (300 songs coming from actual albums) and then write about how wrong the trading of pirated materials is wrong for their Contemporary Moral Issues classes.

i am simply trying to bring to your attention an idea that’s been kicking around a sports fan forum. This is in regards to the NBA All-Star weekend. It has become an incredibly boring event for the tv viewers, and the dunk contest has become a joke. in order to bring back some of the excitement, here’s an idea which we hope you will endorse.
a tournament style 1-on-1 contest. it could be a one or two day event, starting with 8 or 16 players, which means the champion would need to win 3 or 4 matches. it wouldn’t be that bad for the players, even if the matches are 10 minutes long, because they are spread over a long period.
imagine the matchups for Kobe vs. KG, Vince Carter vs. LeBron, Dwayne Wade vs. Carmelo. This could be both exciting and meaningful (like the dunk contest used to be).

Okay, I will agree that a reasonable agrument can be made that one cannot have too much money. Having said that, however, doesn’t it seem more than a bit unusual that a man who is worth “billions” needs to resort to late night style get-rich-quick schemes?

Actually, this is not Trump, but an affilate, and in their privacy policy it seems they are sharing information with other List Management companies. You’re probably seeing a variety of offers who’s advertisers are paying email vendors on a CPA (Cost Per Aquisition) basis to get sign ups, registrations, etc. If Trump is paying this affilate more then $1.50 for full name and email address completion he is getting ripped off.

This reminds me of all the spam I get from those UK-based “companies” that come across my resume on Monster/HotJobs/CareerBuilder offering me countless amounts of money for my bank account so they can transfer money.
