Soccer clubs get smart

Thanks to Aidas for link to this article. I guess I’m not the only one that thinks paying players to work for another company that profits from them isn’t such a good idea:

LONDON (Reuters) – A stand-off between Europe’s leading soccer clubs and the game’s world governing body FIFA over compensation for the release of players for international tournaments such as the World Cup has come to a head.

The G-14 clubs, including European champions AC Milan, Real Madrid, Manchester United and Bayern Munich, made an official complaint last week to Switzerland’s competition commission, which has opened a preliminary inquiry into FIFA’s rules.

“This complaint concerns points of dispute between clubs and national teams, particularly concerning clubs making players available to national teams for free for competitions organised by FIFA,” the competition commission said.

“The preliminary inquiry will aim to show if there are elements of illicit competitive restrictions under FIFA rules.”

  2. But do the clubs pay back the grass root teams for developing the kids that become there stars (for nothing)?

Perhaps you can just consider it Payroll tax from the Governing body.

I am sure you would love to turn the NBA a lot more like Soccer, i.e. No Salary Cap!

  8. Your site is very good. Thank you for the opportunity to post comments.

Mental diseases are on alarming rise these days!!!!!! Reasons:: fast paced life style, loss of general society values, rise of individual focus etc. Its sad to see the downfall of humen. The deep chasm between the materilaistic growth and spiritual growth is surely the main reason for all this. There are so called medicines like Xanax, valium, prozac which may probably help give temporary releif to patients suffering from mental ailments. (try visting http://www.buy-xanax-online-now.com if u want them at cheap rates). But does the answer really lie in these medicines??? Probably NO!!…I would advice such patients to help themselves with yoga and meditation. This possibly is the surest way to relieve mental stress.
