Of course you don’t remember, Donald

In the NY Post’s Page Six on Sunday, The Donald responded to my blog entry saying that he doesn’t remember meeting me and would never have said what I claimed he said.

First,I don’t expect him to remember me. That’s ok. He meets a ton of people. I’m surehe doesn’t usually talk to people like he did to us. It’s possible it was just one of those throw away comments that we all make from time to time. But facts are facts, Donald. You said it. I remember it as clearly as I remember the Hawaiian Tropic Model wannabes with sequin dresses that were on the other side of thepool watching you come over to us.

The reason that I remember it as clearly as I do is not simply because it was you that said it, but rather beause I was probably the poorest guy of the 3 of us at the table. The irony was so rich (pun intended), I was dying to tell my buddies when I got home.

It happened just like I said it did, Donald. That doesn’t make you a bad guy, and it doesn’t mean I don’t like you. We are just different. Very different.

I respect you and think we would have a great time hanging out talking business. How about this as a truce offering: I will come by your apartment in NY, we caneither walk or take a cab to the White Castle of your choice and dinner is on me. Bring yourgirlfriend if you like. If we can’t be friends after sharing a couple dozen sliders and onion chips, it just wasn’t meant to be.

With regret, I apologize that I was unable to hire you for employment in Florida.

At the time, Mar-a-Lago was overstocked with an abundance of valets, pool boys and maintenance crew.

Best of luck with your future endeavors. Please feel free to drop off a current resume and keep me informed of your progress.

Let me get this right, you turn off the comments cause you don’t like people challenging your motives. Amazing. Isn’t this kinda what you did to the Donald. Mark grow some skin..

  10. Well time is passing and I have not heard from The Benefactor and I would have LOVED to be part of the show. I just recently put my audition video on a link for all to see. I worked very hard on it and it was a little tough for me not to have gotten any sort of response. I still don’t get why they didn’t hold auditions in Los Angeles. This video took me 2 weeks to edit…oh well now it’s time for me to get a life. =)

If you want to meet Mark Cuban do something that would deserve and earn his time instead of looking like a kiss-ass online. Hey Omarosa are you a joke or what? Way to blow it sweetie. what was Kwami’s quote, she is a space case. ROFLO.. You that man an apology, you blew it for him. I wouldn’t hire you to flip burgers.

  13. Mark,

I have a proposition. If Trump says no or doesn’t respond to the offer, take me out to White Castle.

I’m a senior at University of Oklahoma, but I’ll drive to the nearest WC (I grew up in Midlothian, TX and I don’t remember there being any WC’s in the Dallas area, but like I said I’ll drive anywhere).

Anyways, if you even read this I would absolutely love to meet you. So, if Trump won’t meet you, you can come meet a potential “apprentice” of your own.

Email me if you want to take a chance😉

(To everyone else, I know that was a cheap shot, but I had to try.)

  15. How amazing, now I am bashed for expressing my opinion about Mr. Cuban. This just in Mark Cuban has a cult like following and any negative opinions about him are attacked by the children of the BLOG. Give me a break. Mr. Cuban said that he is different then Mr. Trump, well i can fill you all in on how different he is, Trump has more zeros at the end of his net worth. Thats the only difference, give or take a few personality flaws. Hey, I said it once I will say it again, Mark I respect you for where you have gotten, but I don’t respect your attempt to be a loud mouth phony guy next door ACT! And quit your whinning about the officals in the NBA. You sound like a four year old. I don’t remember Jordan crying about the officals, the man went out and played. I think it’s time for some whiffle ball Mark maybe that will clear your head. Go help a starving KID tomorrow MARK, have some dignity left.

    Comment by zforce -

  19. Justin, Roberto is onto something with his comments but for someone who says “but I tell you what when i get RICH I wont waste my time bullshiting on the Internet”, he’s already off to a good start with the bullshitting, i wonder about the getting rich though.

I plan to get rich while bullshitting on the internet…and patenting my new catchphrases like the Donald. That should be added to Donalds keys to success. Take ordinary everyday things that people say or do, things that once were free … and copyright them, to make money off of what people shouldn’t have to pay for… like crappy water.

Mark, I’m buzzing off all my hair in four weeks… I call it ‘Goin Messier’ (c). I challenge the Don and Mark to both ‘Go Messier’ (c) with me. I’m doing it cuz heredity as well as the stress of getting rich from bullshitting on the internet is leading me that way anyways and I’m not into the combover thing…

Anyways I think this all comes down to the generation thing… Trump and Mark are simply from two different eras. One is on the way out, bettin on real estate cuz they don’t make it anymore, like my grandmother is… and one makes money on new commodities that never existed before. I like Trump but only for what he is. Kinda like why we still like to check out Fremont street when we’re in Vegas.

I am disappointed that after his show was over that we found out that the project Bill gets to ‘run’ is barely afloat and may not even get built. I think it is important that if you’re going to call yourself a success for thirteen weeks, better make sure to back it up. I’m not so sure a simple million bucks from Mark is much better though. During each survivor season or the apprentice we’d always come up with better ways to do the show… turns out, for the apprentice we all thought the endgame was a good idea…until we saw it executed and heard about the aftermath. Mark, I think you should pull the rug out from under the winner somehow… make em bet it all on a Mavs game that they may not win… see if they bet against you for the million or something. The money’s not enough to watch a whole season anymore.

    Comment by zforce -

  20. Mark, I’ve never had a reason to write you before but you’ve touched on an important topic. I love you (in a straight manly way, of course), I love the Mavericks (former season ticket holder and will be again some day), and I love White Castles (lived in Chicago, now in Dallas for 10 years). Mark, could you find a way to get a White Castles in Dallas? Could you negotiate, promote, beg, or finance just this one simple pleasure that would bring so much joy to tens of thousands of DFW residents who have been transplanted from homes in the mid-west?

You couldn’t be more wrong my little misguided friend. Mark is making a difference. Do you think he posts stories to gloat and belittle everyone? Your seriously retarded if you don’t see that everyday Mark has something wise to say, granted anyone can take it or leave it.

Quite truthfully, I think there is a great deal to be absorbed and learned from reading Mark Cubans Web Blog. He truly gives out sincere advice that is guided, intelligent, and hopeful; perhaps even more important for all you business folk. Of course there is the occasional rant and rave about NBA officials and his team, but in general abundance of sensible and down to earth information from a billionaire which is absolutely free. I could go on here, let’s see, its Roberto right? But basically Mark earned his money through hard work and dedication, not inherited ** Cough, Trump You Egotiscal Shmuck. ** Knowledge is power. It’s especially nice when it’s free.

“..you will be remembered for what you did.”

Perhaps you’re actually onto something here Roberto, indeed Mark will be remember for what he does, which includes a charity foundation and many other altruistic offers. Get with the program, you can only be jealous so much, so why don’t you read, absorb, and apivel

I met you once as well, back in 1997 at a lunch in Bellevue with Microsoft folks when you were just getting Broadcast.com off the ground. I have to admit, I laughed when you sold it to Yahoo and have watched your career ever since.

The Donald can screw himself and his bad hair. He represents the worst of the old school business man, the patronizing rich guy who looks down on the world from his gold platted apartment. His show, while it taught me something, taught me more about what I never want to be. Dude … you go man. Be your own man, take life on your terms. There is a whole group of young execs out there watching you do brave things with great admiration. I don’t even like basketball but I am a Mavericks fan now😉

Marc – if you feel slighted by “The Donald” and want to gripe about it, that’s what a blog is all about – more power to ya. And I don’t think Trump will ever put up a blog. Requires too much personal input and an investment of emotion, in my opinion.

By the way, I’m a Sacramento fan, and while I hope we kick ass in game five, I just want to say that both you and the Maloofs are class acts. It’s a pleasure watching the friendly rivalry and the respect with which you treat one another.

If Mark Cuban starts a fight between him and The Donald, I think it would generate more ratings than The Benefactor. Just a thought. BTW Mark, you have a nice sense of humor/imagination…Donald Trump eating @ White Castle…nicely done.

  37. (My notes from attending a speech given by Mr. Trump at The Learning Annex in NYC on 2/11/2002)

    Donald Trump’s Rules For Success

    1. Think Big – The effort for projects with big payoffs is usually equal to the effort of projects with small payoffs, so you might as well go for the projects with the big payoffs.

    2. Stay Focused – Get your ass in gear. Do not let distractions trip you up.

    3. Be Paranoid – People are vicious, people are jealous, as the boxers say “keep your left up”. Your friends may not be your friends. It’s very hard to determine when someone is loyal to you, because when you’re on top they all appear loyal, but when you have problems or need sacrifices from them, you’ll find out who is really loyal and who’s a rat.

    4. Follow The Momentum – Don’t lose your momentum. People who retire and “come back”, usually don’t succeed the second time around.

    5. Be Passionate – Love and enjoy what you’re doing. One cannot succeed if one does not absolutely love what he’s doing.

    6. Go Against The Tide – Be a contrarian. Buy when all others are selling. Sell when all others are buying.

    7. Go With Your Gut – You know what is best. Opinions of others, especially those not as successful as you, are almost worthless.

    8. Hire The Best People – but: (a) you have to like working with them, (b) you have to watch them like a hawk (see rule 3)

    9. Get Even – Sometimes you need to show everyone that you’re not somebody they can fuck with. Instill a bit of fear into the environment to help prevent others from trying to screw you over.

    10. Lawyers Are The Worst Scum – Be extra-careful when dealing with these guys.

    11. Think Like A Winner – To be a winner, you have to think like a winner. Be self-confident, but not self-centered.

    12. Discipline – You need to be disciplined as well as focused (see rule 2).

    13. Make It As Much Fun As Possible – When you wake up each morning, you cannot cringe at the day ahead (see rule 5). You have to think to yourself, “how can I make this day as fun and as rewarding as possible?”

    14. Be Tough – Don’t take shit from anyone. If someone is trying to take advantage of you, don’t let them do it. In a market economy, there are always alternatives to paying or working with these people. The best solution is to drop them quick and find someone else to replace them.

    Comment by Walter -

You aren’t offering a full meal to “the Donald” without them. Meanwhile, a real tough loss last night. I never saw so many balls rim out in my life. Better luck in Sac town!

    Comment by Bill -

  41. Donald is obviously just a whino who’s frustrated that an egotistical remark he said has been put out in the open. He must be a pretty frustrated guy, since it seems everything he says is full of egotism.

PS – Pleae win game five! I’m running on five hours of sleep since I had to stay up and watch the game. In the first half I was cringing, because Stojakavic was missing all of his shots and I knew that he was going to get really hot at some point…and he did. Oh well, just steal the next one on the road and it’s a whole new ball game.

    Comment by Maggie -

  42. Well Mark, I think you hit the nail on the head. Of course to be a gigantic business tycoon like Donald there has be some sense of egotism, pompous, “bad-ass” attitude, but Donald is just too much of all. You absolutely destroyed him with factual quotes and information about his true character. What did Donald have to say?

“I hope your show does better than your team in the NBA playoffs.”

Real class Donald, come on now, perhaps you have fortune and power, and so does Mark. The difference Mark is a sincere person who knows the populist and also knows what it’s like to struggle financially. Continue to be pleasant and altruistic Mark, in the long run, it’s what really matters.

  43. Donald is a clown, he probably envys you because you are a self made man. He inherited money and put it into real estate. Thats a no brainer. His other business ventures have not been successful. His casinos have never made a dollar and continue to lose money every year while he continues to be the laughingstock of wall street. He’s the Paris Hilton of the business world: famous for being famous, an heir rather than a real entrepaneur and a stepping stone for members of the opposite sex. He isnt worthy of the olive branch that you extented to him. He is a the poor man’s Don Leprix selling a bogus book on how to get rich to the poor. Don’t get me started. Lol.
